The King Shall Rejoice
The two main pieces featured in the concert were the two anthems; The King Shall Rejoice & Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened from Handel's famous coronation anthems. On the second half - a lute player (Bill Badley) and soprano (Iúnó Connolly) performed duets by Purcell and Dowland. Choral pieces by Tallis, Dowland, Morely, Stanford were then to follow, including the uplifting spiritual by Dowson.
